About the Programme

Duration: 13 Months | 4 Workshop Modules | 8 Coaching Sessions

This Level 3 apprenticeship is perfect for individuals who are passionate about early childhood development and want to support babies and young children in their critical early years. It’s designed to build confident, capable, and caring Early Years Educators who can support children’s learning, play, and development from birth to 5 years old.

Module 1

Child Development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

  • Understand the prime and specific areas of learning and development
  • Explore theories of attachment, play, and learning styles
  • Align practice with EYFS and developmental milestones

Module 2

Health, Safety and Safeguarding in Early Years

  • Apply health and safety legislation and safeguarding protocols
  • Respond confidently to concerns about child welfare
  • Create safe, nurturing environments for all children

Module 3

Promoting Positive Behaviour and Inclusion

  • Use positive reinforcement and age-appropriate behaviour strategies
  • Embed inclusive practice that supports all children’s needs
  • Understand the impact of SEND and cultural diversity

Module 4

Building Partnerships with Families and Professionals

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and agencies
  • Support transitions and family engagement in learning
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Coaching Support

Each learner is guided by a dedicated coach through 8 individual 1:1 sessions spread across the 13 months. These sessions are tailored to:

  • Support application of learning into everyday practice
  • Reflect on progress and strengths
  • Prepare for assessments and develop confidence in professional discussions

Programme Completion

  • Preparation for Gateway & End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Portfolio review and professional discussion
  • Celebration of achievement and next steps planning
